As Donald Trump made his way back to the Oval Office for his second, non-consecutive term, he also brought back the beloved Diet Coke button, which he uses to summon his favorite drink.

The red button, nestled inside a wooden box, was spotted on Trump’s resolute desk following his inauguration ceremony on January 20, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

Whenever someone presses the button, it alerts the butlers at the White House that a Diet Coke is needed in the Oval Office. Interestingly, Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden, took the button out of the office back in 2021.

After the initial report, Trump even showed off the button during interviews.

“Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button,” Trump told The Financial Times in 2017.

In his 2019 book “Team of Vipers,” former White House aide Chris Sims shared an interesting tidbit about Donald Trump’s first term. He mentioned that Trump would sometimes use a red button as a prank on visitors, joking that it might activate nuclear capabilities. “Out of nowhere, he’d suddenly press the button,” Mr. Sims recalled.

“Not sure what to do, guests would look at one another with raised eyebrows. Moments later, a steward would enter the room carrying a glass filled with Diet Coke on a silver platter, and Trump would burst out laughing,” he added.

How Many Cans of Diet Coke Donald Trump Consumes In a Day?

According to a New York Times report, Trump consumes approximately 12 cans of Diet Coke every day.

What Is Donald Trump’s General Diet in A Day?

Trump has some pretty unique food preferences, and he tends to stick to what he calls the Big 4 of American fast food: McDonald’s, KFC, pizza, and of course, Diet Coke.

There are even stories out there suggesting he steers clear of non-chain restaurants because he’s worried about getting poisoned, which really highlights just how particular he is about what he eats.

According to Corey Lewandowski, who used to be Trump’s campaign manager and wrote the book “Let Trump Be Trump,” the US President often goes about 14 to 16 hours without eating.

When it comes to breakfast, if he has to, he’ll have bacon and eggs. For lunch, he enjoys a variety of favorites, like a hearty meatloaf or a steak that’s just a bit overcooked, slathered in ketchup.

Dinner is quite the feast for him, typically consisting of a McDonald’s meal that includes two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish, and a small chocolate shake, adding up to around 2,430 calories.

Sometimes, he likes to mix it up with a bucket from KFC. Lewandowski also mentions that Trump skips the bread on his sandwiches and avoids the crust on his pizza. As for drinks, in addition to those milkshakes, we all know his eternal love of Diet Coke.
